Why do you believe in soul mates?
I’m 25 years old. A few months ago, I believed in soul mates, but realized I was foolish to believe in such a made-up fantasy. I doubt 2 people are destined to be together, although I would love to believe in that again. But, the idea probably only exists in movies and fairy tales. If there were such a thing as soul mates, why do some people never find love or can find new love after their husband or wife passes away? So, if you believe in 2 people that were meant to be, why is it that you do?
I don’t. I believe there are lots of people who you could be just as happy with, not just one.
If there were only one, geography would work against most of us.

It can be easy to believe in soul mates when you get caught up in love, which can be a very intense emotion. Soul mates are, however, an invented and untrue concept.

There are probably many people who you could love but you won’t meet most of them or they won’t be available or you won’t. And sometimes the person you love changes and you don’t love them any more, or you change and the same thing happens. You have to work at finding the right person and keeping your love strong.

Having a soul mate implies that some outside force is in charge of your destiny. Tell me, do you think those gay men/women can have a soul mate…..see the answer there is obviously no…

I believe in it because if I had to live life and struggle through things I don’t need to without belief that I am on the path to my soul mate, someone to share the strain with, someone to love you regardless of your short comings I mean someone that you can bare your soul to, tell him absolutely anything. I guess its because I have always been the one people run to when they need to confide or need someone to fight their corner but because I am their safety net I cant run to anyone and I guess the thought that someday I might find someone to fight my corner for a change keeps me from resenting the role I play for my friends and family.
