How can soul mates exist with the current divorce rate?
Doesn’t really make sense, now, does it? Are humans polygamists by nature? We sure aren’t monogamists. The whole "be my penguin" thing doesn’t really turn out half the time, so the whole soul mate theory has to be thrown out the window, no?
I agree there are many people out there that we can be married to and make it work. We could love them enough to make life pleasant. BUT I DO think we are also given our ONE true soul mate.
I had a boyfriend prior to my husband. I loved him, and I think we would have gotten married and lived a perfectly normal life. The marriage wouldn’t have been too exciting, or too unhappy but it would have been just enough. Right before he proposed I met my husband. We started out friends, went to best friends, and then I left my boyfriend of 4 years because I knew there was something more out there.
My husband and I have been together 15 years, married 12, and I can tell you this marriage is full of passion. We are not perfect we argue, but this love is so full of passion that I never had with anyone else.
I do think we have our soul mate out there, but we do have people with whom we are compatible. That could be why divorce is so high, people marry the ones who they are compatible, and love but not the ONE with which the true passion lies.
Until you experience that type of love, you will never understand

I disagree. I am married and could not see myself with anyone, but my wife. She is my soul mate.

There’s no such thing as a soul mate, anyway.

Maybe. Maybe not.
Marriage is hard and it typically involves more than just one and one’s soulmate: kids, brothers, sisters, ex-lovers, therapists, people who need therapy but refuse to see therapists, in-laws, neighbors, church members, doctors,….all kinds of people

Yes, no soul mats. But, if you consider how sex is everywhere and free and our society is all about being selfish, how can relationships survive in america?

soul mates do not have to be the person you are married to
it is a person you are deeply connected to

I believe that each of us has a soulmate, but with so many people on this earth, someone of us may never find them! They could be half away across the world. Its just chance that the some of us do find them. I believe that there are people who find someone they are compatible with, and may spend their whole life together, but its still not their soul mate.
I know, with all my heart, that ive found my soul mate. I fell in love with him the first time i saw him, and we were only 13! We went 5 years without seeing each other, but he still crossed my mind everyday! then when we saw each other again, it was just meant to be and couldnt let each other go! We;ve been together since and I have never been as happy as I am now.

I think that there are a bunch of people out there for any one person.. Some would be more compatible with you then others, but there’s certainly not just ONE soul mate for each of us.. that’s what makes relationships so fun though
