Free Online Dating: Find Your Soul Mate Online

Free sites vs. subscription online dating sites?
I’ve considered giving online dating a try. I’m in college trying to get my coursework done in three and a half years instead of four and I’m also on the track and field team. Needless to say, I’m pretty busy between school, practice and competitions. I hardly go out to bars or to parties and miss a lot of social opportunities. Besides, since I do a college sport I don’t drink much. Even though I’ve kind of given online dating a negative rap before (even calling it lame); I’m thinking about giving it a shot.

I’ve looked at both the free dating sites and also the subscription ones. Nothing against these guys, but it seems like the free sites have more high school educated-baby daddies living in their mama’s basement and looking for a “chill girl to party with” than the subscription sites. And I’m not much of a party girl. I think I’d go with a subscription site. It’s not like I’m expecting to find my “soul mate” or anything like that, I think I’d just relate better with these other guys. Plus, I like the idea of filling out something like 30 questions or whatever to get the best personality and interest matches. Really, it’d do me good to get out and socialize more since my life at the moment revolves around school and track.

I guess the saying “you get what you pay for” applies to this situation. And no, I didn’t mean that to sound like an escort service…. haha. What are your thoughts? Do you have any experience with the free or subscription sites?
