How can i get a bachelors degree with all my credits?

By Debirose · August 9, 2010 · Filed in Past Life Programs · 3 Comments »

I have 105 college credits from different schools I’ve attended over the years. I’m now older and wiser and would like to finish a bachelors degree without having to start over. I’ve heard of programs where you go to school one night a week for a full year. The admission is based on college credits, past employment, and life experience. How do I find a good program?

Very few legitimate schools will award credit based on life experience, and those that do require you submit a portfolio, essay, or take an oral exam to cover the material. They don’t just take your word for it. Avoid any school that doesn’t do this. Most colleges require you take at least half of the credits for your degree from them, so you’ll either have to re-enroll in the school that awarded most of them or settle down to transfer as many as you can and finish off the degree in a few years.

Slight prior record/ unescapable past; Can I still become a police officer?

By Debirose · July 20, 2010 · Filed in Past Life Programs · 1 Comment »

I’m interested in becoming a police officer. I’ve looked into the criminal justice program at my local college, but the adviser said she wasn’t positive if I’d pass the criminal background check they do before they allow you to be apart of the program. I’ve had one Minor in Possession back in 2006 which is a misdemeanor when I was 17. I’m now almost 21 (I’ll be 21 on September 12th). I’ve also had 5 traffic tickets (I know, horrible right? I’ve worked on it, cruise control is my friend. lol Only two speeding tickets; one for 5 over and one for 21 over. 21 over was a bad day. It was my father’s birthday who was also an officer and passed away on 8/13/09 I was really upset that day) Unfortunately, I’ve had a rocky past with my local law enforcement as well. Not because of what I’ve done but they automatically judged me because of my mother’s ex-husband who hit and almost killed an officer on purpose (I hated him when my mother married him when I was 4. I knew he was trash then). My mother and I have also had a few scuffles when I was a teenager at home. She had some mental issues but is also an extremely good and believable liar. (I love her and respect her, but it’s true.) I’d never do anything to intentionally hurt or disrespect my mother. But she was quite conniving and even used my siblings (who have mental disabilities) as her "witnesses". I’ve also experimented with hard drugs the year I was 17. I was never caught or convicted of any drug charges though. If there is to be a polygraph test, I’m more than willing to tell the absolute truth about everything in my life, past or present. My interest in becoming an officer is to protect and help the people who need it obviously, and hopefully provide guidance to people who need it as well; particularly the youth. Now that all my issues are out there, what are the chances of me becoming an officer? It’s something I’d really love to do and I believe I’d be a great officer. Please give me your opinions. Thank you. :)

You’ll probably be alright if you just keep all that personal baggage thinking to yourself.Just answer what they ask you but don’t volunteer extra possibly questionable stuff.Everybody has skeletons in their closet.Just leave them there unless they come up…even then you don’t tell every detail.
What I think will matter most in your case is gonna be what you can show them you’ve been doing positive recently(or for the last few years after 17)in your life. Also, show your confidence…it’s definitely needed in this line of work. Are you thinking of the Police dept. you’ve had all the issues with? Why not somewhere else? You don’t have any big criminal issues as far as I can tell.

Fha Loans Have Key Advantages

By Debirose · June 14, 2010 · Filed in Past Life Programs · 2 Comments »

FHA home loans can have key advantages:

Easy Qualification – The FHA home loan insures lenders against loss for loans made to properly qualified FHA home loan borrowers. So you’re likely to find FHA mortgage loans with terms that make it easier for you to qualify.

Minimal Down payment and Closing cost – FHA mortgages can work with as little as 3% down and those funds can come from a family member, charity, or your employer. Although the FHA loan does not have a zero down mortgage option yet, you will find that your loan officer can point you to many Down payment assistance programs that work well with Florida FHA home loans. In addition to low down payment options FHA allows the seller to pay up to 6% of your closing cost and prepaid items.

Less than A-1 Credit is Okay – The FHA home loan program exists to expand the pool of home buyers. Even borrowers with prior bankruptcies or mortgage lattes get approved every day for FHA mortgages to buy or Refinance homes The FHA loan program uses credit quality, not credit score!

Lower Cost Over the Life of the Loan – The FHA home loan rates are extraordinarily competitive. FHA’s lower risk to the lender means a better rate for the borrower.

Safeguards for Borrowers Who Get Behind – The FHA loan mortgages also allow the lender more options in helping borrowers who fall behind keep their homes are get current again: special forbearance, workouts, even free mortgage counseling. Further, FHA can allow the lender to take past due payments and move them to the end of the loan and in some instance will actually pay your past due payments for you. Options to save your home you’ll never get from a conventional loan! In an uncertain world, this is another excellent reason for you to get an FHA mortgage.

Options for Manufactured Housing – Under certain conditions, you can even finance a Mobile Home or manufactured home using a Florida FHA mortgage loan.

FHA Loans Are Fully Assumable – When you are ready to sell your home, you can offer buyers FHA financing! All FHA loans can be assumed by qualified buyers.

The FHA program has evolved since it started in 1934 and now has options for HUD insured loans that fit a variety of different borrowers and situations.

Creating Appreciation in Your Business

So often our focus is on what’s ‘not yet’ done, what is sitting on our To Do list, and what we ‘ought to’ be getting to but haven’t yet completed.

Children have a great deal to teach us about what motivates our hearts and gives us the impetus to put our energy into growing our businesses. They remind us that our strength in life comes not from what’s missing and undone, but rather from what we’ve accomplished.

My 6-year old nephew reminded me of this as we were celebrating the holidays. His joy as he calculated 600 times 600 in his mind and got it right is his motivation to keep learning how to work with numbers. His glee at that power is a great pointer for all of us to deliberately take stock of what challenges we’ve taken on, what we’ve learned this past year, and now can use it.

Here are some of my favorite accomplishment prompts that I use with coaching clients and participants in my programs:

1. List 10 things you accomplished this past year that you are proud of.

2. What were the most important things that you learned this past year, both in business, and personally?

3. What changes did you make based on that learning, and as a result of these changes, how will your life be different this coming year?

4. How have you changed over the year, and as a result of those changes, what new possibilities exist for you?

5. What if it all had to stop now? (take your time with this one) If you had six months to live and six million dollars, what would you do?

6. What changes would you make in the way you work to give yourself the best possible chance of success?

7. How will you have to change in order to give yourself the best possible chance of success?

And here’s a powerful BONUS Question. What steps have you taken in the past that helped you succeed?

The reason that final question is a gem is that it’s your opportunity to reveal what you DO know how to do, the steps you’ve used in the past to create your success.

You may have used them unconsciously or deliberately.

Either way, just as my nephew is consciously calculating two 3-figure numbers and coming up with a great answer, you too know techniques that have let you cut through confusion and challenges to create the accomplishments you’ve listed.

Now is a great time to remind yourself of what you DO know, the tools you already have at hand, and use them as the road map for the challenges you want to take on next.

programs to catch me up for public school?

By Debirose · June 8, 2010 · Filed in Past Life Programs · 3 Comments »

Here’s the low down: I’m online schooled. I’m seventeen. I’ve been in every school situation you can imagine- public school for the first thirteen years of my life, private school for two years, public school for half a year, and I’ve been in an online schooling program for the past year or so. I slacked off sophomore year. I’m supposed to be a senior, but I’m still a sophomore because I never completed my courses. I know, bxtch move.

I’m considering going back to public school despite the fact that I suffer from social anxiety and depression. Up until now I was considering dropping out. I’d rather try than disappoint my parents, I guess. I don’t think I can continue with my online schooling because I fear I’ll get even more behind (more reason behind my endeavors to drop out).

Say I do go back to public school, are there any programs (preferably online) I could enroll in this summer to catch me up to my senior class? I’d rather be with my own age group then with a bunch of fourteen and fifteen year olds (my brother is a sophomore too, how embarrassing for me). If I continued doing online I could graduate from highschool within this year but again, it’s not the easiest thing for me and I get lonely.

Sorry for the novel.

I’m not sure when you turn l8 but many ps dont allow you to return to school at certain ages. And its for that very reason taht you described (being l8 and with l5 year olds is not a good situation for either side) Some ps systems have alternative school for older students. I like the advice though that you were given to try for your ged and see how behind you really are. You may not be at all. And pass. If you fail, big deal it juts answers your question (what you need to catch up) It will tell you where your weakness are. If its math, then you can take math classes trhough the GED program. They will help get you where you need to be to pass the test. Then start at your local community college towards your gen ed. IT seems like first year of gen ed is the same as high school to me.
Dont get discouraged and give up. You can do this and you will be successful if you dont let anything get you down. You did mention that you are having issues with depression. IT is important to get that taken care of and under control before you try to tackle even more in your life. Biting off more than you can chew is one good way to ensure you will sink deeper into anxiety. So go to a phd therapist and get counseling. Find the right medication (if that is what the problem is) and do whatever it takes to get yourself out of this mudhole your in. You have excellent writing and spelling so I sense that you are much more talented than you admit to. Your parents wont be disappointed if you do your best. Remember this is your life. You cant live theirs for them. Dont let them have control of all your choices. You need to start thinking about disappointing yourself and making yourself proud and let them own their own feelings. You cant be responsible for what they think or do.Take care, you sound like a sensitive caring person to me.
