A poem. Your thoughts?

By · September 29, 2009 · Filed in Past Life Shadow Dancing · 5 Comments »

Painted cheeks, restored, flushed with new life,
behind a finely wrought cage,
with a beautiful gate. The lock, is broken.
Yet no foot nudges the fragile door.

Frightened shadow dances wearily in shoes
much too small, but resists the passing of the time.

This sounds like someone who has been given their freedom but too afraid to accept the chances of going out into the open spaces away from their prison. Some one who will not emerge from their comfort zone.
Very interesting.

What do you think of my essay, and how should I end it?

OK, this is the topic:
How can art and culture be a catalyst for civic engagement in improving the quality of life in our community and challanging times? Write an essay persuading citizens in our community to support your ideas. Please give compelling reasons and examples on how art and culture can be a catalyst for civic engagement in improving the quality of life in our community and challanging times.

Art is defined in the dictionary as the human ability to make things; creativity of man as distinguished from the world of nature. Free expression establishes itself in endless aspects of everyday life. From the ads you see on television to the music you hear on the radio. Furthermore art can act as an agent for communal engagement in the advancement of the quality of life in our community and challenging times. In difficult times such as these where depression, poverty, and suffering seem to be around every corner, art and culture is a cathartic way to reflect strong emotions in a positive manner that promotes a common focal point for people of all backgrounds, eventually resulting in increased neighborly interaction.
Various means of artistic expressions include choirs, marching bands, and community art programs. Commissioning of public art works by private artists for public display in art museums, government buildings, and downtown areas of cities and towns can provide an insightful view and understanding of the perspectives of other individuals they wouldn’t have gotten to know otherwise. In addition, a person going through a similar situation is able to form a mutual bond with the artist which enables the advocate or patron of the artwork to feel less isolated in their experience.
Imagine strolling down the street, and everyone looks identical. Monotonous clothing, voices, faces, and skin color, doesn’t that sound dreary? There is no place more inviting or fascinating than a city with a rich cultural variety. It not only brings life and energy to a setting, but exposes citizens to all kinds of customs and ways of life. Exposure to cultures contradictory to our own, early on, can prompt a deep respect and appreciation of a myriad of races and culture, potentially reducing the number of ignorant racists and skinheads thereby making the community a better place for the future and even the present.
In these times of tribulations holidays, can be the perfect thing to disregard all of your past follies and present hardships. Not only are you surrounded by family and friends, but are inspired to give to the less fortunate and requite to the community. Holidays bring all types of citizens together despite ethnic and cultural differences through public events like the new years eve countdown downtown or forth of July fireworks.

This is for my 8th grade english class btw.
lol, u don’t have to read all of it

Wow, very good. That’s way better then I could have done in 9th grade.
But imo if you took out "tribulations" it would make it seem more like it was human written rather then trying to show everyone that you know big words.

But I still give it a 5/5

Do I pay for past from relationship AFTER a break up??

By · September 29, 2009 · Filed in Past Life Contracts · 5 Comments »

When my ex boyfriend and I started dating, he got a 1 year memebership to a gym in our area. Since I went with him, he put me on the membership as a spouse. He paid for the membership and all the contract and payments are in his name; I was only on the contracts as the spouse. That was in Sept 2005. We broke up in October of 2006. He called me today (2007) stating that the gym payments when in default and on his credit report and I owed him for half the payment. I never knew anything about the payments nor if he was still paying on it because he NEVER mentioned it. Now that we have broke up and we both have moved on, he is trying to come back in my life attempting to charge me for things he did for me when we were dating. He also wants to take me to small claims court for $100 of the defaulted gym payment. I didn’t even know I owed anything. Am I liable for paying this or anything he is charging me for while we were dating?

As long as the contract is soley in his name and you never signed the contract, you would not be liable.

Even if it were joint and your name was on it, if he had been paying all along and cannot provide any proof that he ever asked you to pay your "share" during the course of the year contract he would likely not meet his due diligence requirement. As the contract was only for 1 year, he most likely would have had to renew it without your knowledge or consent and above all, signature. Even so, if he ever expected you to pay a portion, he would need to provide proof of that prior to him defaulting on the payments now.

In this case though, he would not have legal grounds nor would it be to his benefit to try to sue you in Court because he perpetrated a fraud on the gym by representing you as his spouse when you were not.

Past life?

Is there anyone out there that can give me a tarot reading to find out my past life? My friend’s had them, and kind of intrigued me into the idea of my past life. Email me if you can give me a reading for free, preferably over email.

The only thing I can offer are a couple of websites where you can get a free tarot reading:

tarot.com

salemtarot.com

You might want to google "free tarot reading" for more….

Why do we see beliefs as something to be respected, no matter what?

By · September 29, 2009 · Filed in Limiting Beliefs · 3 Comments »

People often comment about their beliefs being disrespected, and I wonder why they think their beliefs should be shielded from criticism. Why should religion get a "get out of ridicule free" card? Granted, we should attempt to show some respect to people, but why are beliefs off limits?

It’s kind of interesting because Atheism is more disrespected than any other belief. As demonstrated by surveys which show that Americans think they are the least trusted member of society.

Also, when beliefs come under ridicule, it’s never the ones that say be kind to each other or don’t kill. For example, you’d never see an Atheist posting a question like "Since the 10 Commandments are made up why don’t you go stab someone?" It’s only the elements that seem to hinder society. For example, limiting science education, or promoting religious belief in a public arena when our constitution explicitly prevents it. I have no problem with the traditions or communities of religions.

I understand that saying "Sky fairies are imaginary, you are dumb." isn’t particularly productive, but also, it’s about as offensive as when I hear someone tell me I’m going to hell. Which is to say, if you can’t deal with someone saying that you really need to develop a little bit thicker of a skin and a little more confidence in your beliefs.
